About Sagar

This year, Sagar won Second Prize in the International Double Reed Society’s Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox Competition. He was a founding member of Vanguard Reed Quintet, who were awarded the Silver Medal in the Senior Winds Division of the 2018 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Sagar is an advocate for contemporary music, regularly commissioning, programming, and performing music by living composers. With Vanguard, he released Red Leaf Collection in 2020, an album of six newly commissioned works for reed quintet. Sagar has performed as a substitute with orchestras such as the Kansas City Symphony, South Dakota Symphony, and Sioux City Symhpony. Sagar is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory.
